Station Avenue, Beadlam, York. Sensitive Residential Infill in the Greenbelt

Sensitive residential infill scheme for the Joesph Rowntree Foundation. The setting is a quiet rural village, where by a parcel of land was identified adjacent to existing social housing. The scheme was sensitively designed to form a natural extension to the village fringe in the greenbelt.

Successful design and negotiation brought about this small but much needed scheme for housing despite its rural setting. The scheme is a testament to the skills of mbo architects to provide a development which is in keeping with its rural grain. With interesting facade treatment, good use of local vernacular  materials and setting.
